Cake Pan Choices And Types.
There are many different types of cake pans. Which cake pan you want to use depends on the type of cake you are baking. You can purchase cake pans from any store where baking supplies are sold including grocery stores and department stores. If you are look to bake a specific cake you will want to choose the cake pan for it.
For something like a bundt cake you of course will want a bundt cake pan. These tend to be a bit more expensive than your average pan but it will make your bundt cake in the traditional shape. Most of them also protect against uneven baking and soft spots in the cake.
The most common type of cake pan are the round cake pans. Most cakes are round or rectangular and both can be made from cutting a round cake into a different shape. The round bases can be shaped. These are sold just about anywhere they sell cake pans. There are a few different sizes and types including ones with removable bottoms or outer rings for easier access.
The second most common is the square, rectangular, or sheet cake pan. These are normally shaped to a certain size although there are some that are adjustable. Which type you will want is entirely dependent on the type of cake you are baking and the recipe.
While looking for cake pans contemplate the different materials possible. There are the ordinary metal common ones and there are plastic cake pans. The plastic pans are great for heating up the cake later or some of then are suitable for conventional ovens and a countertop microwave oven.
The material that you choose will also generally come in plain and nonstick surfaces. If you are planning on making a cake that is gooey or sticky you definitely want the nonstick kind of cake pan. This stops the need for greasing the pan with butter or some sort of spray.
No matter which style cake your are baking there is a cake pan for it. Whether you want your cake to be multi layered, round, square, or in a bundt style you should be able to find the pan that you need.
